🚰 Vizag water shortage: GVMC maps 12 tanker filling points

Declining groundwater levels have led to drinking water shortages in several parts of Visakhapatnam. To tackle the situation, GVMC has mapped 12 tanker filling points across the city.

The civic body has linked 26 GVMC tankers and around 100 private tankers to these points, covering all 98 wards. GVMC has also introduced a Dial-a-Tanker service, allowing residents to book and track water tankers online.

The service received 245 bookings on its first day, with GVMC promising delivery on the same day or within 24 hours. Tanker operations will run from 6 am to 6 pm, while 98 assistant engineers have been deployed across the wards to monitor water supply.
