🌐 Vizag to Become an International Subsea Cable Gateway

Vizag is preparing to become an important entry point for global internet traffic through Google’s America–India Connect initiative.

🌊 Undersea fibre-optic cables will land in Visakhapatnam, carrying enormous volumes of internet data between India and other parts of the world. These cables work like digital highways beneath the ocean.

The wider network will create new routes connecting India with Singapore, South Africa and Australia, while strengthening connectivity with the United States.

⚡ The project could provide faster data movement, additional network capacity and alternative routes during cable disruptions. It will also support Vizag’s upcoming data centres, cloud services and AI infrastructure.

The cable gateway is still being developed. Once operational, it could place Vizag alongside Mumbai and Chennai as one of India’s major international connectivity hubs.
