🌧️ Vizag Rain Update

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorm activity over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, including the Vizag region, on August 17–18.

The weather is being influenced by moist monsoon air and atmospheric instability, which can support the rapid development of convective clouds. This may result in localized rain, lightning and sudden gusty winds rather than continuous rainfall across the entire city.

🌬️ Winds: 40–50 kmph at isolated places

🌧️ Rain: Localized showers possible

Andhra Pradesh has also recorded a 39% rainfall deficit so far this monsoon, indicating that the current rainfall activity is still not enough to offset the seasonal shortfall.

Stay alert during thunderstorms, especially near open areas and the coast.
