Vizag Prepares for Grand Independence Day Celebrations 🇮🇳

Visakhapatnam is preparing for a citywide Independence Day celebration, with several public programmes planned across the district ahead of August 15.

As part of Har Ghar Tiranga, residents, businesses and government offices have been encouraged to display the national flag from August 13 to 15.

A mega plantation drive will also take place on August 14, with residents encouraged to plant saplings at homes and other important locations. The campaign will combine the Independence Day celebrations with a message of environmental responsibility and nation building.

The district administration has also proposed illuminating government buildings, bus and railway stations, and major intersections with tricolour lights on August 14 and 15.

Students from government, private and aided schools will participate through special classes and take a pledge on their role in contributing to the country's future.

With flags, lights, plantation drives and student participation planned across the district, Vizag is set for a festive Independence Day build-up.
