⚓🌊 Vizag Port Emerges as India’s Seafood Gateway

Vizag Port is making a big mark on India’s seafood export map. 🇮🇳🦐

According to data presented by the Union government in Parliament, Visakhapatnam Port handled 50.87% of India’s marine product exports in FY2024-25. The port continued its strong performance in FY2025-26, accounting for 48.89% of the country’s seafood exports.

The growth is significant. Vizag Port’s share stood at just 29.67% in FY2023-24, meaning its share jumped by more than 21 percentage points in a year.

The port plays a major role in moving shrimp, frozen fish, squid, cuttlefish and crab from Andhra Pradesh to international markets. Andhra Pradesh itself is one of India’s biggest hubs for aquaculture and seafood production. 🦐🌏

For Vizag, this is more than just a port statistic. It highlights the city’s growing importance as a global seafood export and logistics hub.

Vizag’s seafood story is going global. ⚓🌊🦐
