🌫️ Vizag Falls to 21st in National Clean-Air Ranking

Visakhapatnam ranked 21st in Swachh Vayu Survekshan 2026, dropping from 17th place last year. 📉

Vizag scored 172 out of 200, sharing the position with Delhi among cities with populations above 10 lakh. The survey covered 130 cities under the National Clean Air Programme. 🇮🇳

📊 Vizag’s performance:

2024: 22nd with 163 points

2025: 17th

2026: 21st with 172 points

Lucknow topped the 2026 ranking with 198 points, followed by Indore and Jabalpur. Hyderabad stood 19th, while Mumbai and Bengaluru ranked 28th and 32nd.

The survey measures more than daily AQI. It evaluates road-dust control, waste burning, vehicle and industrial emissions, construction waste, public awareness and improvement in PM10 levels.

🏭🌱 Vizag’s score improved from 163 to 172, but its rank fell as other cities performed better. Stronger action against pollution is still needed. 💔
