🌊 Vizag Coastal Plan Draws Limited Public Response

A public hearing on Vizag Coastal Zone Management Plan was conducted at the VMRDA Children’s Arena.

➡️ Around 100 people attended the hearing, despite Visakhapatnam having nearly 20 lakh residents and a coastline stretching about 130 km.

🎣 Representatives from fishing communities raised concerns about untreated waste entering the sea and the possible impact of coastal development on their livelihoods.

🏗️ Landowners also requested clarity regarding construction restrictions in CRZ-III and No Development Zone areas.

📝 District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore said around 50 written objections and suggestions were received. These responses will be reviewed before the coastal plan moves towards final approval.
