🏛️ The 120-Year-Old Town Hall Still Standing in Vizag

If you’ve been around One Town, chances are you’ve seen this old building. But did you know it has been part of Vizag’s story for more than a century? 👀

The Victoria Diamond Jubilee Town Hall was built between 1901 and 1904 and became an important place for public meetings, cultural programmes, theatre and literary events. 🏛️🎭

It also witnessed important moments in the city’s history, including Mahatma Gandhi’s visit in 1929. 🇮🇳

Over the years, the building went through a period of neglect. But instead of losing it to time, the historic structure was restored while retaining its old architectural features, including its tiled roof, stonework and wooden elements. ✨

Today, it remains officially recognised as a heritage building of Visakhapatnam.

More than just an old building, it is one of those places that quietly reminds us how much of Vizag’s story is still standing right in front of us. 💙
