🗳️ New Voting System for Vizag Mayor Election

Vizag is preparing for the next GVMC elections, with the city’s ward count proposed to increase from 98 to 120.

👥 Under the new system, residents will directly vote for the Vizag Mayor. They will also choose the corporator representing their respective ward. Earlier, the Mayor was selected by the elected corporators.

📍 GVMC has released the proposed boundaries of all 120 wards across its 10 zones. Residents can check them at GVMC offices or online and submit objections or suggestions until September 11, 2026.

⚡ Political parties and aspiring candidates have reportedly started preparing for the elections. However, the ward boundaries and reservations must be finalised before polling can take place.
