🌊 Godavari Water Reaches North Andhra Through Polavaram Canal

Godavari water is being released through the 213-km Polavaram Left Main Canal today, September 2. A major development for North Andhra. 💧

➡️ Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will release the water at Payakaraopeta in Anakapalli district and perform Jala Harathi at Sitarampuram. 🙏

🌾 Around 5.23 lakh people and nearly 2.87 lakh acres of farmland across four districts are expected to benefit.

🚰 The water will support both drinking-water needs and agriculture. The canal is also planned to be connected with the Uttarandhra Sujala Sravanthi project.

📍 The government also plans to connect the canal with the Uttarandhra Sujala Sravanthi project, potentially extending water supply to Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam and nearby districts. This could eventually improve water supply across Vizag, Anakapalli, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam—a major step towards better water security for North Andhra. 🌊💙
