₹3,892 Crore Development Push for Vizag 🚧

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu virtually laid foundation stones for 16 projects in Visakhapatnam on September 22. The works span drinking water, sewerage, roads, traffic management and public spaces.

Water and sanitation form a major part of the plan. Projects include 24/7 water supply for Madhurawada and nearby areas, a sewerage system for Madhurawada Zone II, and a sewerage network and treatment plant for Pendurthi.

The package also includes an AI-based traffic management system for 101 junctions, road upgrades, 165 neighbourhood parks, smart vending zones in Madhurawada and Gajuwaka, and sports facilities at Pedagantyada.

Around ₹3,531 crore of the work is being taken up through GVMC and ₹360 crore through VMRDA.

Officials have called for the infrastructure works to be completed within 18 months.
