🌳 200-Year-Old Banyan Tree Saved in Maharani Peta

A tree that has witnessed nearly two centuries of Vizag’s history was almost lost. Revenue officials stopped the removal of a nearly 200-year-old banyan tree located inside St. Anthony High School in Maharani Peta.

⚠️ The action was taken after concerns were raised that the historically significant tree was being removed without following the required rules.

🛑 Officials instructed the school management to stop the work immediately and warned that action would be taken if the tree was removed without permission.

🌿 Local residents have requested authorities to preserve the tree as part of Vizag’s natural heritage. Several migratory birds are also said to rest on it. 🐦
